What is an NBA player wheel?
An NBA player wheel is a free random picker holding a pool of players. Spin it and it lands on one. Filter by position, rating band or era first so the result fits whatever challenge you are running.
Two pools get used most. Current top players, and all time greats.
Keep them separate. A wheel mixing a current rookie with an all time legend produces results that break most challenge formats.
How do you use the player wheel?

Filter by position or rating

How do you run a build challenge?
Spin once from the top rating band for your star, then spin for each remaining position with a lower cap. Turn on remove after pick so nobody gets drafted twice, and accept every result without rerolling.
The discipline is the whole game. A challenge where you redraw anyone you dislike is just picking a team slowly.
A workable structure:
- One spin for the star, from your highest band
- One spin per position, each from a band you set beforehand
- No rerolls, which is the rule that makes the result worth posting

Is the player pool up to date?
The pool on the visible list is what the wheel spins across, and the update date sits on this page. Player rankings move every season, so check both before running a challenge that depends on current ratings.
Player lists go stale faster than team lists. Franchises rarely change; top 100 rankings change annually and ratings change within a season.
So the honest position is the same as every roster page on this site. The list is visible, it is dated, and anything missing takes seconds to type in. For a challenge tied to a specific game edition, building your own pool is more accurate than any general list.
Is the player wheel random?
Yes. Every player left in the pool after your filters has the same chance on every spin. The result comes from your browser's own random number generator, and the animation just shows you where it landed.
Rating bands change who is eligible, not the odds between the players who remain. A higher rated player is no more likely to land than anyone else in the same band.
