You get the same draw with a display that stays legible.
The wheel above is set to 1 to 100. Below you will find how to hand out numbers across a group without collisions, the ranges people switch to most, and how large a range stays workable.
What is a 1 to 100 wheel?
A 1 to 100 wheel is a free spinner covering every whole number from 1 to 100. Spin it and it lands on one, giving you a random number in that range without setting anything up first.
A hundred labelled slices would be unreadable, so the display works differently.
The wheel draws from the full range and shows the result clearly rather than printing a hundred tiny numbers around the rim. The odds are identical either way.
How do you hand out numbers to a group?
Turn on remove after pick and spin once per person. Each number leaves the wheel as it is drawn, so twenty people get twenty different numbers with no collisions and no checking a list between spins.
That is what this range is mostly used for:
- Turn on remove after pick before the first spin
- Spin once per person, reading the number out as it lands
- Stop when everyone has one, with the rest of the range unused
Where a hundred-range draw gets used
| Use | Why this range | Setting to turn on |
|---|---|---|
| Raffle tickets | Matches a hundred numbered tickets | Remove after pick |
| Seat or locker numbers | Assigning without collisions | Remove after pick |
| Guessing games | A hundred is the classic range | None |
| Percentages | One spin reads as a percentage | None |
| Team or task allocation | Numbers map onto a list you hold | Remove after pick |
How large a range still works?
Anything up to a thousand and beyond works the same way. What changes is the display rather than the draw, since past a few dozen numbers the wheel stops labelling every slice and shows the result on its own.
Three thresholds worth knowing:
- Up to about thirty, every number is readable on the wheel
- Past that, the wheel shows the range and the result clearly
- Past a thousand, use the spin history rather than trying to track results by eye
The odds never change with the size of the range. Every number in it has the same chance whether there are ten or ten thousand.
Can you change the range?
Set any low and high value and the wheel rebuilds. 1 to 50 for a smaller group, 1 to 20 for a class, 1 to 1000 for a large draw, all from the same two fields without leaving this page.
The preset is a starting point rather than a limit.
Sharing the wheel carries your range in the link, so a range you set once comes back when you reopen it. Bookmark that link if you use the same range regularly.
Is the 1 to 100 wheel random?
Yes. All hundred numbers have exactly the same chance on every spin. The draw comes from your browser's own cryptographic random source, and the display shows a result that was decided before the animation started.
Removing drawn numbers changes which remain eligible, not the odds between them.

What other number wheels are there?
Number wheels load with different default ranges and are otherwise exactly the same tool underneath. Pick whichever default saves you a step, since every one of them will let you change the range afterwards anyway.

- Pick a number 1 to 10 wheel for the smallest common range
- Pick a number 1 to 1000 wheel for larger draws
